yes its the same turntable

It looks as though the problem is with the USB electronics in the turntable.

Unplug the USB connection and try connecting direct from the RCA sockets on the turntable to the line-in on the Mac, as Bill and Koz suggested, with the cable shown in Koz's link. The EQ switch on the turntable should be set to Line, not Phono.

If that works OK, you know the problem is with the USB in the turntable.

Note that I was assuming the turntable has a permanently-attached RCA cable for connecting to a stereo, thus the need for an adapter with female RCA sockets. If the turntable has RCA sockets on the back for connecting a standard RCA cable, then you need a cable as illustrated in Koz's picture.
