I have a recurring problem with recording using Audacity 1.3.3. The software frequently changes settings on its own, without being touched by me even if I leave it open. Today, I recorded a 15-minute voice interview. It worked fine. I exported it to mp3 and that worked fine. I started a new recordng in the usual manner. Suddenly the sound meters were only moving a tiny amount, mcuh smalled than usual. I had changed nothing. WHen the recoring was doien, it autosaved as usual. I then exported it as usual to a new mp3 file. What I got was an mp3 of the first recording. My second recording was absent. I ent looking for my autosaved copy and couldn't find it. even though autosave is checked in preferences, there is no .audacity_temp file on my computer that I can find. Where is the separate folder it mentions? It doesn't tell you where it saves the autsaved files int he documentation. Any idea where to look?
A relted problem is taht without warning it will delete my input from preferences. I use a USb input and sometimes its just gone. I have to reinstall fromt he beginning. any idea what causes this?

Audacity 1.3.3 is very old... you should upgrade to the latest 1.3.13.

You can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

(moved to the 1.3.x forum)
