deleting selection labels and flags
How do you remove a selection label and it’s flag? I labeled some selections, then edited out some sections of the recording, so the labels were then in the wrong place, but I couldn’t delete the flag. I was able to delete the label but not the flag.

Lucky,
please do NOT pm me directly with the same question that you post on the board - one or the other please ( and it's better to keep it the board as others benefit from the postings then).
For the benefit of others I attach the contents of my pm reply to you.

it's different in 1.2 than in 1.3 (easier and better in 1.3)
In 1.2 - place you cursor in the label track and select a small section surrounding the label. Then use Edit/Delete to delete the selected section from the label track. But note carefully that this will remove this section from the label track and accordingly move leftwards all following labels accordingly. You can minimize the impact of this by zooming in as much as possible before selecting around the label. If you have left suitable silences between the tracks then you can trim the following inter-track silence to accomodate the moved labels.
In 1.3 - simply delete all the contets of the label (with the backarrow key) and then one futher click of the backarrow will remove the label.

Re: deleting selection labels and flags
I was trying to do the same thing using the Edit Labels dialog in 3.1.5d. It looks like I should be able to click on the track and choose "Remove". But if I select the last track and choose Remove, it removes the first track instead. Is this a bug?
Re: deleting selection labels and flags
Possibly a bug, but I can't reproduce it in the most recent version of Audacity, so it may have been fixed.Paul Lundgren wrote:if I select the last track and choose Remove, it removes the first track instead. Is this a bug?
