"Audacity already running" when opening further files

On Linux (but not Windows) the "Audacity is already running" error gets in the way of opening further files from the command line or from the context menu:

Do any of these issues show on Mac, or is it OK?

If you mean double-clicking .aup files to open them, no problem on Mac. I can open multiple projects that way.

Thanks, Bill. Yes on Linux, selecting multiple .aups in a file manager like Nautilus then double-clicking them (or any other file type where Audacity is default application) creates the same problem (only the first file opens, then you receive a warning about Audacity already running).
Most people who complain about this are opening audio files though via the right-click context menu having created an association between that format and Audacity. Does it work OK if you
associate WAVs with Audacity then (I assume) control-click over a number of them to open them with Audacity? Do they all open in new Audacity project windows?

Yes. Select multiple AIFs, double-click and they open with Audacity 1.3.13, each in a new project. Or right-click for the context menu, select Open With, and then my choices are myriad, with "Audacity (default) (1.3.13.0)" at the top and then every version of Audacity I have on my machine, and then every program that can open an AIF.
For .aup files, I can select multiple files then double-click and they all open in separate project windows.
