Can a couple of Mac people open these Windows projects?

Recently there was a problem where a project I created in 1.3.13 on Windows with a Unicode character in the file name opened with orphaned blockfiles on Mac, and then deleting the orphans silenced all the audio in the project. This may have been due to a bug reading Unicode which we think Vaughan fixed, but this needs to be tested with our current code.

So can you grab the latest Mac nightly from the bottom of this list then download http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/win_projects.zip ?

The projects are:

1 Det Är VI Ändå.aup - just over a minute of stereo audio with a fade at the end - the track is unselected and named "Det är vi ändå" (note capitalization differences from project name), about 5 seconds of timeline is selected at the end of the track
2 silly noises and e acute label.aup - a short un-named track of plucks and tones with a label that says "misteré"
3 silly noises without label.aup - same, but no label

Thanks for testing.

From the bottom:

Silly Noises without the label opens as a Mono, 441000, 32-floating show and starts playing two minutes in. Seemingly perfectly.

Silly Noises with label opens as a Mono, 44100, 32 float show and starts playing something like 3.6 minutes from the beginning. There is a label at 3 minutes and it has a word with an accented character.

The first show failed.

Wait. Now I'm confused. About Audacity says 1.3.12....

It's Nightly Build, not the Debug, right?

Yes we want to test http://www.audacity.homerow.net/index.p ... 4-03.15%2F (or any nightly after that will be fine too). The "fix" for the original problem was made on 23 July (On-Demand import froze when importing into a project with a Unicode character in the file name).

You may have launched the nightly without quitting 1.3.12. Quit and start 1.3.13 on its own.

Silly Noises with and without the label should both be about 8 seconds of audio starting at zero, so there's a problem if the audio starts after zero. The label is a point label starting just after 3 seconds that says "misteré". The audio should also have empty space after the end as per here:

Let me know about 1.3.13 when you get a chance.

Thanks

The two simple shows play fine. The complex one with the Lithuanian characters no longer gives error panels, but there's no show there, either.

Is that enough? Wasn't the Lithuanian project supposed to have music?

Thanks, Koz. Yes the project with Swedish characters in the project name should be just over a minute of stereo audio with a fade at the end - the track is unselected but about 5 seconds of timeline is selected at the end of the track.

I'm guessing now you get silenced audio and no errors opening it that the first time you opened it in 1.3.12 you chose the option to "replace missing data with silence (permanent immediately)". However I need to know for sure what that project does in your August 24th 1.3.13, so could you possibly get a fresh copy from http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/win_projects.zip ?

It may be worth making a copy or two of the Swedish project as well in case we have a problem. The other two projects look fine.

Thanks again. ;) Can I persuade you or someone to export an MP3 from Audacity with data in the Year tag, and see if iTunes and GarageBand can see the Year tag? See:

Oh, right. I might have damaged the project. I fix.
