The linking button does not exist in 1.3.12 so I can't be sure if it's the bug that is solved or if it's me who's not reproducing it correctly. Gale if you want me to make sure I'm doing it right please point me to a version which has the sync lock function and the bug still active.
Thanks, Bruno. Linking (Sync-Lock) wasn't turned on in 1.3.12 so #177 shouldn't exist there. To see the bug you would need a Nightly from about the end of July. What matters most is if you tested the steps to reproduce in the latest Nightly Build, with linking on (and with it off as well, to make sure nothing that worked has broken). With Sync-Lock off, the paste should be inserted, but the labels should stay put. Try pasting at other points in the chirp too.
Otherwise, just play around a little pasting into single and multiple tracks, with and without label tracks, and with and without Sync-Lock on. It seems mostly OK on Windows/Linux so far.
PS Are you (Bruno) on Linux and Mac or only on Mac?

I changed it to another key and I was able to successfully reproduce the bug in 1.3.12-beta.
I then tried the same in 1.3.13-alpha-Aug 12 2010 and it no longer happens.
Thanks Bruno. It's fine for me in Linux too, but not on Windows (ANSI nightly which is pure SVN HEAD).
Can you try setting shortcuts thus:
Play - Y
Stop - S
Play/Stop - U
On Windows, as soon as I start play (with the button or Y), add a label at playback position then ENTER (so the yellow focus is still on the label track), P pauses and unpauses playback, but U or S add an unwanted label at time zero.

Both. Linux on the desktop and Mac on the laptop.
I've been using linux since 1998 or so. Mostly Debian.
I'm fairly new to Mac. I bought my laptop 2 years ago, initially to install Linux on it, but I liked MacOS-X so I stuck to it. Still discovering new features every day
I occasionally use Windows, but my knowledge about it is very poor, specially on post-XP versions...
