Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

That's weird - it appears that the window title bar has gotten shoved under the menu bar. Time to reset the preferences.

In the Finder, go to <your home>/Library/Application Support/audacity/
Right-click on the file "audacity.cfg", and in the context menu that appears, go to "Open With", then "TextEdit"
[If you would like to help us track down what happened, do the following:
Scroll down in the file until you see the line "[Windows]"
Select everything from that line to the next line that starts with a "[" character.
Edit > Copy
Create a new TextEdit document and Edit > Paste
Later, copy and paste that text into a message in this thread
End of optional section]
In TextEdit, (in the audacity.cfg document) delete everything except the line "NewPrefsInitialized=1"
Save your changes.

When you start Audacity, it should display a window in the default location.
