I am exporting one mono track of narration as an mp3. I want to export and create a mono mp3 file. I click on options, I choose split stereo, it still creates a a stereo file. Why is mono not an option?

How do I export this one mono track as a mono mp3?

If the track in Audacity is a single mono track and you export it as an MP3, it will automatically become a mono MP3 file. The "Stereo/Joint Stereo" options make no difference.
