Call me "lame," but I keep getting "Cannot write mp3" and "cannot export as .WAV" msgs.
All I recorded was a simple, 30-second sound sample using the MacBook's built-in microphone.
Your assistance is appreciated.

What exactly did you call the exported files? You shouldn't use dates in your filenames or any other punctuation. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, underscore and dash only.
