Old Records and Pops, hisses and crackles

I have a ton of old record albums that I have the means to get onto my computer and record. I also have Old Time Radio shows in an MP3 format that I can record to CD's. The problem is that they have crackles, hisses and pops, as they are old. Can audacity get rid of these and give me a clear sound? I have a MAC. If not Audacity, can someone recommend another product?
