Mac OSX 10.6.3 and Memorex USB Turntable Audacity incapabili

Just purchased Memorex USB Turntable with OSX 9 Audacity-Mac 1.00.sit Software and LameLib-Carbon-3.91.sit. Will not download onto my Mac 10.6.3. I am at a loss to what upgrade I need to download. Can anyone help out? I have vinyls from the 1950's to 1980s and would love to hear them on CD while traveling.

You need Audacity 1.3.12 from this page:
http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac (It sounds like the version shipped with the turntable was ancient).
Also on that page you will find a link to the latest version of LAME for OS X. Note that you only need LAME if you want Audacity to export to MP3.
