Where do I put additional nyquist effects?

Hi!

I recently updated to Audacity 1.3 (OS X) and thought I might add the additional nyquist effects that's distributed along with the application. On the disk image there's a folder called "plug-ins". I realize that has to be placed some where. But I can't figure out where.

The wiki says:
Simply place them in the Plug-Ins folder inside your Audacity installation folder and restart Audacity. Your installation folder is usually under C:Program Files on Windows computers, or under Mac Hard Disk > Applications on OS X.
There are no plug-in folder inside the Audacity package or in the application folder. I tried to place the "plug-ins" folder from the disk image on both places but Audacity won't find them on startup.

So, where do I put them? :)

do a search for a folder containing files named *.ny
put it with the other ones

unless it is in lisp
then search for *.lsp and put it there

in my audacity folder
where audacity.exe resides
after my installation of audacity
found under c>program files>audacity

there are also folders named
Plug-ins containing nyquist files
Modules - containing a dll exp and one other file
Nyquist containing lisp files - Go figure

if your install did not create those then do a bug report

The best way to install Audacity is to create a folder within the Applications folder (called for instance "Audacity 1.3.12"), then copy the entire contents of the .dmg into that folder. So start over: delete Audacity from your Applications folder then install as above.

Thanks for replies!

I uninstalled the application and reinstalled it in a folder within application folder, just as billw58 wrote. It works!
