importing mp3 problems
I have audacity 1.3.5d and I use a Mac that is version 10.5.8. I have been importing and editing tons of mp3s without a problem, except for two incidences. With one song, every time I imported the song, audacity would cut off the first note. On the the other, a roughly 3 minute song would stretch to 5 minutes when imported. My boyfriend suggested making it a wav file and when trying that both songs imported normally. Is there a reason for mp3s to import normally in every other incidence?

It sounds like there is an error in the MP3 encoding - not enough to stop it from playing or converting, but enough to upset Audacity 1.3.5
You might want to update Audacity - the current version is 1.3.12.
