How to mix files on 1.3.9?

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

First of all, you're in the wrong forum. Maybe one of the admins can move this to the 1.3.x forum, where it might get more attention.
Second, what do mean by <<mix two songs or more together>>?
If you mean crossfading a number of songs to create a seamless mix, just put each song on its own stereo track then use the time shift tool to shove them around until you get a crossfade you like. You can use the Fade Out and Fade In effects if you like. When you're done export it to an MP3 or AIFF file so you can play it in iTunes or burn it to a CD. You'll end up with one long track with all the songs mixed.
If you're looking to do something different, please be more specific.

Dizzy asked me by PM: "thank you for answering bill but I have one question yes I mean mixing songs together and said "just put each song on its own stereo track then use the time shift tool to shove them" do you think you can clarify that more? Like what do you mean its own stereo track?"
Dizzy:
You really need to spend a few minutes reading the manual. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... dio_Tracks
Each time you import a song Audacity will create a new stereo track for that song. When you play back the project all the tracks are mixed together. When you export your project (to MP3 or AIFF) the tracks are mixed together and the resulting file will sound just like what you heard when you were playing it back.
Just play around a bit and it will start to make sense.
