opening Audacity recordings with iTunes by default

opening Audacity recordings with iTunes by default

whenever i convert an Audacity recording to mp3 and open it the default is opening with Audacity although I want the defalt to be iTunes. How can I make iTunes the default?

Try the following:

Highlight a mp3 file in the Finder, right click (or control-click) on it, choose "Get Info"; in the window that is opened, change pop-up menu "Open With" to iTunes, and press the "Change All ..." button.

I personally have all sound files set to open in Quicktime player because iTunes imports everything in its library.

Which you can also change. I think the default is to not import.

Yes, that's true: you can set iTunes to not make a copy of every song, but everything is imported into the Library database nevertheless.
