using Audacity with Ableton Live - Problem

Hi,

I'm using the latest Audacity beta. I have it setup inside Ableton Live 8's preferences so that when I click "edit" in live's sample window, it automatically opens Audacity for sample editing. problem is, it won't load the given sample, it just opens audacity empty. the functionality is supposed to be that you click a sample, go to its sample window, click "edit" and audacity opens with the sample loaded...

anybody know why this wouldn't be working correctly?

Functionality according to who? Audacity has very rudimentary command line options.

according to ableton -- any audio editor selected this way is supposed to work this way. Wavosaur manages to do it on my PC. if Audacity can't do it, there's absolutely no point using it with ableton, as it's a huge waste of time to have to manually go find the sample among the ableton directories rather than have it load automatically.

interestingly, I just tried the same thing with version 1.2.5, and it works fine (ableton opens audacity and the sample I want to edit is loaded into audacity). so its 1.3.7.1 with which this doesn't happen.

Perhaps you should write to Ableton and ask if they can fix it for Audacity 1.3.7
