Hi there,
I got Audacity 1.3.7.1 on Mac.
After I export my recording as MP3 and I played it on iTune and Quick time, the sound quality is horrible. Then I open the MP3 audio in Audacity, the sound quality is horrible as I played in iTune and Quick time, which it was very fine before i export it to MP3.
I try to export the same recording to WAV. The recording is playing fine in WAV
Bad sound quality in MP3 format

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Re: Bad sound quality in MP3 format
MP3 gets its small file sizes by damaging the sound. The smaller the file, the worse the damage.
In Audacity 1.3, you have the ability to set the MP3 quality at export. Very good to excellent results can be had with a bitrate around or over 200 (192-225).

Thank you very much! I got it right now. As you said, it works from 192 to above.
