My mic recordings are very low

I'm trying to record in Audacity 1.3.6 using a Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser microphone. I have Windows Vista. I'm able to hear a recording, but it is extremely low. I've made sure I have the input set to the right mic in the preferences. I've tried recording in mono and stereo. I can't figure it out. What's even more frustrating is that I used to be able to record just fine until I got this new computer.
