Trouble with getting LAME Encoder

Good morning,

I was attempting to get the LAME encoder this morning from the site linked from Audacity.sourceforge.net. However, it's flat inaccessible, at least the LAME encoder download page is. The rest of that site works fine as normal. Does the person who runs that domain know of it, and if so, how long until it returns. The reason I ask is I need the encoder to export as MP3 for my work as a DJ for an online station.

You don't need Audacity to create MP3 files. You can Export a WAV file and convert it in Super and you can set up iTunes Import to create MP3s for free. That should get you rolling while you/we figure out the lame library problem.

i too have a problem with the encoader....i did all the directions to get it...but its not listed in the tool bar(you know export as wav or mp3 files etc....)what can i do?and also how do i then export them?thanks

The problem is lame_enc.dll recognition in Audicity 1.3.7 is effed up. It will only accept their version of the dll. If you try a dll from another place that is clearly labeled 3.98.2, Audicity will only recognize it as 3.98 and popup an error message. And honestly, do you really need an installer? I have no idea why they even did that. Here's the dll file: http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/lame_enc.dll . Just stick it in your Audacity folder and browse for it.
