Vocal remover tutorials doesn't work.

I downloaded a mp3 song. The song is more on voice. The music is only piano and trumpet and no stereo. I want to dub the song, so I need to at least lower the voice or remove it. I tried a lot of removals and tutorials, but it doesn't work. When I import the song, instead of showing two box, it only shows one. So, from the beginning, it will never let me remove the vocals. HELP!

If when you say the music is "no stereo" you mean the MP3 file is mono, then it has imported correctly and you cannot use "vocal removal" techniques to remove the vocals. If the file is stereo but it has imported incorrectly as mono, this problem can occur with some MP3s that have ID3v2 metadata tags right at the start of the file. To fix it, install the optional FFmpeg library using these instructions:
http://www.audacityteam.org/manual/inde ... tallffmpeg
then import the MP3 again with File > Import > Audio and ensure you select "FFmpeg-compatible files" in the "Files of type" dropdown at the bottom. Alternatively, use this development build of Audacity instead (assuming you are on Windows 2000 or later):
http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/audacity- ... -alpha.zip
which should import the stereo MP3 as stereo if the problem is with the metadata tags.
Also note that even if you have a stereo file, the vocals won't remove fully unless they are panned centre-stage. See:
