Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

opening of saved project fails!

Post by onemen » Mon Apr 06, 2009 9:40 am

Hey everybody,
I1m using this beta version, and I'm unable to open my saved projects at all. Everytime I save something and try to open it I get the same message:
Error:not well formed(invalid token)in line 171. That is pretty annoying problem, because of this I can't turn off Audacity until I finish a project.
Somebody please help me!
Thanks in advance.

Sometimes you can get this if you put punctuation marks in a filename. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash and underline are the only accepted characters. I don't use spaces either.

Unless we can see line 171 of the Audacity ".aup" file we cannot help.
Do you have a text editor that displays line numbers?
If not, try Notepad++ (it's free) http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
