I also suffer this noise removal failure even with 1.3.4-beta (Unicode version on WinXP SP2, Pen4 3GHz, 1024 MBytes Memory).
But I noticed that apparently this bug happens dependeing on the length of file being treated.
While by this bug I failed in the noise removal on a 20-min file, I succeeded on a 2-hour one without any problem.
Maybe this noise removal failure bug comes about for the shorter file only?

still crashing in 1.3.4.
The odd thing is, until yesterday, I was only rarely getting the crash under 1.3.3 .
today it started happening every time. I updated to 1.3.4 and it still happens every time.

FWIW, 1.3.4 has been nothing other than unstable for me.

Nope!! In my opinion it's not the length of the track which causes the problem as I've seen it on long (2hrs) and short (20mins) tracks, but it's something particular to the file (but no idea what!)
If a file fails then even saving the file in a different format then reloading it still give the same results. I had the problem on 1.2.6, 1.3.3 and now 1.3.4 (which seems better). If a file doesn't work with 1.3.4 then it is OK on 1.2.6!! (go figure)...but sounds like a 'dalek' after the noise removal
It's a pity as the noise removal in the betas does a good job of noisy vocal recordings...when it works!!
Hopefully the problem can be soved

I can reply that this bug is still quite current, but on Linux, the most recent version of Kubuntu.
