Hi!
I´m working on a projekt, and yesterday, after a long day in front of the comuter the sound, while i was listening dissapered for a moment. I thought it was my headphones so i check them an run the sound again, but, at the same place in the projekt, again the sound dissapered. (This was only for 1-2 seconds). So i thougth "what?", "ok, i´ll just delete this part, and record it again.....maby my microfon in the headset got broken a bit".....
Then i started to re-record where i was at. I saw on the soundtrack that the audio "went in on it", but quickly dissapered! So i thought "what again??". "Ok. The computor must be tierd maby or i don´t know, i´ll start it over". So i saved my projekt, closed up audacity and the other programs i had open and restarted the computor. My computor was superslow to restart.
Then when i tried to open up my projekt again (wich now was over 4 hours long), its not able to open!!!
I´ve tried several times and all i get is a samll popup saying Error: unclosed token at line 18258
Is anyone able to help me?
(Sorry bout my english, i´m not english).
Cheers. Eva

And also, the weight of the projekt changed after this, last time i checked it´s weight it weighted several gigabytes and now it only weights 764 MB.

That sounds bad - you have most likely lost much of the audio data.Eva wrote:last time i checked it´s weight it weighted several gigabytes and now it only weights 764 MB.
Great care and, most importantly, a very stable machine is required when working on very large projects. I would generally recommend splitting very large projects into small sections. Also, you should Export tracks as WAV files after each recording so that you have a reliable back-up of each recorded section.
I'm sorry that I am unable to offer advice about recovering your project - I fear that most of the project is now lost beyond saving. I hope the advice may help you to avoid such problems again.

Yeah.
Thank you very much anyway for caring stevethefiddle.
I figured taht to, and started rerecording the hole thing yesterday. And exporting as soon as i finished a bit.
The thing wich is hard i think, is that the small bits of sound that is automatically saved in the projekt_data-folder isen´t numbered in audacity 1.3 (but it is in 1.2)
I have lots of those short soundfiles in good condition but they are not numbered so it is impossible to put them back in the right order. But since they are onlt 2 seconds long it would be a huge puzzle and flipping around anyway.
So i figure, it´s best to do the hole thing over.
Take care yeah?
