Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Input selection box missing in 1.3.7 ??
I previously used stable version 1.2.6. Sometimes I would record my voice using the built-in mic in my laptop. Other times I would record sound internally using the "wave ouyt mix". There was a box in the upper right corner of Audacity that made switching between the "microphone" and "wave out mix" settings VERY easy.
I decided to try version 1.3.7. Although I see many great new features, that input selection box I referenced above is not there. I now have to go through my Control Panel to the audio settings to set the input...way too mnay steps!
Is there a setting that allows me to set the audio input within Audacity in 1.3.7 ?
Thanks!!

Re: Input selection box missing in 1.3.7 ??
Thanks. I tried that and launched the toolbar but it doesn't change any settings. Basically, whatever setting it's on when I start Audacity is where it seems to stay unless I go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio devices . There I can change from Microphone to Wave Out Mix.
So, is that box in the upper right corner of 1.2.6 not possible in 1.3.7 ??
Thanks again!

Are you saying that you have the device selection box, but it does not change the input source as it should, or are you saying that you do not have the device selection box in Audacity 1.3.7?m12462 wrote:So, is that box in the upper right corner of 1.2.6 not possible in 1.3.7 ??

I attached screenshots from the two versions. The Device Toolbar in 1.3.7 doesn't seem to allow the same choices as those in the selection box/list offered in 1.2.6.

I don't know why you don't have a device toolbar showing if it has been selected, but why don't you use the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the system clock) rather than going into the control panel?

--> SOLVED:
disabled all toolbars andt then enabled again device toolbar. Strange!

It happened again, now in debian lenny.
On this machine was debian etch before, audacity 1.2.* worked perfectly.
Version 1.3.5-beta installed by apt-get.
This is really eating my nerves.

Audacity 1.3.7 (from the repo) - Ubuntu 9.04 - works great for me.
