I had been using Audacity clenaspeech for some time for cleaning up sermons for puuting them up on a website. But one time when I tryed to open a file it just didn't work anymore. If I look at it, everything seems to be working, I see the wave moving and everything but there I can't hear anything. I haven't been using any USB devices while I use it and my control panel audio settings are: Playback - Speakers/Headphones Sigmatel High Definition Audio CODEC, Recording : Microphone Array - Sigmatel High Definition Audio CODEC
and I use Windows Vista

I downloaded the audacity 1.3 because there is also a cleanspeech mode so I thought that I'd just use that then but there the files that I export end up with a size aroun 30-40mb that cleanspeech would have made abou 6-7mb.

So if I could make either have cleanspeech to make a sound again or have the beta version to make the outcoming mp3-s smaller( I don't know which settings should I change) that would be great!

Thanks.

This should be in the Audacity Beta (1.3.x) Forum where I'm moving it to.

If you were opening an .aup Audacity project file in the CleanSpeech program, the project may have no sound because you have removed the WAV or AIFF files the project depended on:
http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... #dependent

It is the most likely answer assuming CleanSpeech opens Audacity project files, which I've forgotten. However CleanSpeech is a separate program from Audacity and we don't provide support for it.

Assuming you want to export as MP3 then in 1.3.7, File > Export, enter any metadata you want and click OK, then choose "MP3 Files" in the "Save as type" dropdown. Click "Options" if you want to change the MP3 export bit rate from its default 128 kbps. That default will mean that the MP3s will take about 1 MB of space per minute. Reducing the bit rate in "Options" will reduce the file size and also the quality.
