Text label functions not working in 1.3.7

Hi,
it appears to me that the functions to create text labels (Ctrl-B and Ctrl-M) no longer work.
I didn't find anything about this while searching this forum.
Please advise.
Kind regards,
Frank

I'm puzzled - both work fine on my 1.3.7 running under Windows XP-Pro on my laptop and Windows XP-HE on my desktop.
Have you done anything to reset the keyboard shortcut mappings? Look at Edit > Preferences > Keyboard.

Hi waxcylinder,
thanks for your reply.
I finally figured it out: I was running audacity in clean speech mode. After turning that off, it worked again. Is that an intended behavior?
Kind regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,
I suspect not - but I have no experience of using cleanspeach - and I am not a coder. I will ping a link to this thread to one of the developers to look at and hopefully comment on.

The main point of CleanSpeech is that it reduces the complexity of the program by eliminating features (and so menu items), and labelling is one such removed feature. 1.3.5 has a "Simplified" language choice in the Interface preferences which similarly removes some features and menu items (notably the entire Analyze menu), but still retains labelling. In 1.3.6 and 1.3.7 this ability to switch to a simplified interface isn't available because really it needs more work and a better choice of items to take out.
