Where is the Stereo Mixer in 1.3.7 for Vista??
I've gotten a new computer (which runs on Vista) and have downloaded 1.3.7 just like I had on my other computer. The problem is, I'm trying to record audio that's playing from my computer, so I need the stereo mixer... can anyone tell me where the hell it is? It seems to be a totally different set up than how it worked on my previous computer. Is this because of Vista, or what?? Please help!

It is (partly) because it is Vista and may also be because of your new hardware.hershey_volts wrote:I've gotten a new computer (which runs on Vista) and have downloaded 1.3.7 just like I had on my other computer. Quite a lot of new PCs (particularly laptops) have "stereo mix" disabled in hardware. On those that do have "stereo mix", it is often switched off by default in the Windows Control Panel.

Ah yes, that is indeed progress.hershey_volts wrote:I played around a little and think I made a little progress... (screenshot:
Now down in the bottom right corner of your screen, next to the clock, there is a loudspeaker icon. You should be able to open it by double clicking, or perhaps right clicking.
That should open some sort of mixer window.
You then need to find the "Record" settings and select "Stereo Mix"as the recording source.
