Inport time not long enough

I imported a .mp3 file. Not all of the file is there when import is finished. There seemed to be a maxium size for import. Is there a way to modify this? The track needs to be longer to take the entire music file. Only about 30 seconds or so.

There is no maximum size for an imported file (provided that you have sufficient disk space on your C: drive).
Perhaps your drive is full, or the MP3 is damaged, or it is not an MP3.

This is a new computer. I have like 45gig of harddrive space left. I have tried to load the .mp3 file in 5 or six times. It stops at the 3minute mark each time. Since the .mp3 is a Karaoke recording, it is protected? Or something like that?

Never mind. I figured it out. I'm just plain stupid. I used a free version of a conversion software that changes m4p to mp3 and it only allows me to convert the first 3 minutes of play. Nothing having to do with Audacity.

Now I got to find a free version of a conversion software to move forward with this project.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Super or Switch. One of those is free.

No problem rhudgens, thanks for letting us know - I'm sure that you are not the first or last to fall into that one.

SUPER (by erightsoft) is free for the full version (that's what I use in Windows). Downloading it is a bit of a link jungle, but it is worth the effort.

There is a free version of Switch, but I assume that it is a cut down version of the commercial program.
