For a scientific school project I am trying to set up the following:
I built an experimental low frequency astronomical radio that produces a stereo sound signal. I need to look at these data on a screen so I can check that it works properly and then record the data in WAV format.

I am trying to do this by using Winamp to get the sound into the computer, then use a plugin to stream the signal into Audacity for viewing and recording.

Do you perhaps know of a plugin that streams Winamp output to the input of Audacity ... or would you perhaps have better ideas?

Two notes right away:

Why is WinAmp in the middle? Why not just capture the work directly in Audacity?

Where did you find a sound card that would record low frequencies and DC? Most won't.

Winamp is in the middle because I want to automatically let it start and stop during the weekend so I do not need to go to the laboratory. I'm sure that can be done by modifying Audacity, but that seemed more work.

Yes, we had problems getting very low frequency signals into a sound card. The cheap and old soundcards we have all have a capacitor in the input line to prevent overload I presume. We have taken that input capacitor out and replaced it with a high value one. It seems to do the trick, at least it seems adequate.
Without using an AD converter, would you have a better idea to get these low frequencies (5-35 Hz) in the computer? I have thought about injecting a 60 Hz signal so I can go after a side band. Unfortunately that ads to a lot of noise in the side band range that cannot easily be separated out.
