Hey, I'm new to audacity and I have a quick question.
I downloaded the beta 1.3.7 version but I can't find how to overdub a recording over another track, you know so i could record my voice over background music. Whenever I hit record, it opens a new file. I know in the stable version, there is a checkbox under Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O that lets you enable overdubbing, but I can't figure out how to do it in the beta version.

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O tab
