I changed the pitch in a section of track of a recorded single instrument voice with backup. The result was that the pitch was changed but it added a empty space that had to be deleted. After deletion, there was a click with a noticible sudden rise in the wave form. I tried the click tool, but it didn't seem to work that well. After experimentation, I was able to breing the wave form into line, I don't remeber how. what might be the best approach to this?

Some of the effects will do slightly strange things at the end of the selection. The trick is to select the selection region carefully.

Try to make your selection occur at a point which is either almost silent (for example, on a vocal track, in between words), or in the case of rhythmic tracks, just before a beat. Either of these will help to minimise clicks at the edit point. Also, look up "zero crossing points" (on Wikipedia).

Sometimes it is not possible to avoid making an edit that ends in a difficult place (for example, in the middle of a sustained note). In these cases the slightly laborious solution is to perform the edit on a copy of the track so that the processed audio can be cross-faded into the unprocessed part of the original.
