Audacity 32/24 bits and hardware 24

I use Audacity 1.3. Help says recommended settings is 32 bits float, best quality.
As an interface I use Tascam122l, which gives me recording in 24 bits.

Does it interfere when I set up 32 in Audacity with my 24 bits in interface?
Will the record be still in 24 bits ( as tascam allows) or- God forbid- it will be in 16!?!

( I got this idea- if its not fitted 24/24 maybe changes to 16 not 24?)

The bit depth of the recording depends on the hardware, drivers and the bit depth set in Audacity.
If the hardware and drivers support 24 bit and Audacity is set to 24 bit or 32 bit (float) then the data will be 24 bit data. Having Audacity set to 32 bit allows processing to be done at the highest possible quality.
