Audacity 1.3.7 crashes after export
I just downloaded Audacity 1.3.7.
I am using Export Multiple (MP3) using a label track. I have done this many times with Audacity 1.3.6 and it worked fine there.
After the first file is exported, Audacity crashes. This happened two times out of two.
Is Audacity 1.3.6 archived anywhere? I would like to go back to it until 1.3.7 is fixed.
Thanks,
KR

Re: Audacity 1.3.7 crashes when using export multiple
Update: It also crashes when trying to export multiple tracks, with no label track. First track exports correctly, then it crashes. Exporting multiple tracks (no label track) also worked correctly in Audacity 1.3.6.

Re: Audacity 1.3.7 crashes when using export multiple
Another update: Audacity 1.3.7 crashes after an (MP3) export, even if only 1 export is requested.
Help! I need Audacity 1.3.6. Anyone know where it is?
Thanks,
KR

Re: Audacity 1.3.7 crashes after export
I had the same problem. I wrote to the Audacity team and they replied:

Worked perfectly for me. (Thanks Gale)This is probably because Audacity is using an old version of the
lame_enc.dll MP3 encoder. As noted in the README.txt accompanying 1.3.7,
and on:
http://audacityteam.org/download/features-1.3-a
"Windows users will require the latest version of the LAME encoder".
Here's a direct link to 1.3.7 if you need to obtain it again.
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/audaci ... -1.3.7.exe
Here is a direct link to the new .dll:
http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/lame_enc.dll
Exit Audacity. Remove any older versions of lame_enc.dll from the folder
where you have 1.3.7 installed, or from the Plug-Ins folder within that.
Place the new lame_enc.dll into the Audacity installation folder. Audacity
should detect the .dll file there immediately when it restarts.
If there are any further problems, they will be because Audacity is
reading the path to the old .dll that you had in Preferences. To make
absolutely sure this is corrected, exit Audacity, then reset your
preference settings file at:
Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacityaudacity.cfg
If you have never used any versions of Audacity other than Beta 1.3, you
can simply delete this file, and Audacity will recreate it. If you have
previously used (or still use) Audacity 1.2, open audacity.cfg in a text
editor, delete the two lines starting with:
[MP3]
MP3LibPath=
and save the changes.

To the response about using the latest LAME dll,
I attempted to use it with 1.3.7 and had no success --
it kept giving me a prompt saying Audacity cannot
work with this version of LAME

Darobin,
From where did you get LAME? Was it http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ or http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/lame_enc.dll or elsewhere?

Re: Audacity 1.3.7 crashes after export
Just a note from a successful user - I too had the crash after export (although the MP3s created were fine). I followed the advice posted by Numenorean7 and successfully exported my file to MP3 without a crash. Thanks for having the solution there when I came looking for it!
