Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I recently had this problem:
http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... 97&start=0
and I fixed it the way it said to, but now, when I open it, nothing works, like you can't press ANYTHING on the window, no file, no close, no record, not nothing. When you click something, it looks like it happened (because the button goes down). I have to close it in task manager. I am using 1.3 beta and XP pro...

You lost the Audacity window, so to fix that you deleted the "audacity.cfg" file.
Now you can open Audacity, but you still have problems.

Did Audacity work before the problem with loosing the Audacity window?

What is the problem now? ("nothing works" is not a fault description, it is either a cry of desperation, or a statement about 21st century globalization, or both).

Well, yes it did work before, but when I had that problem where the window was lost, I could get to it by using the task manager and clicking "maximize" and "bring to front" but when I brought up the window, It froze and I couldn't click anything.
And by nothing works, I mean nothing in audactity works, any buttons on the window.

Did you delete the audacity.cfg file?
When you next started Audacity, were you prompted to select your language?
Do any of the drop down menus drop down?
