batch options in preferences

I was reading the website and saw that there were options for doing batch conversions. I went to the preferences screen and three is not "batch" option, same for under the file menu. Was the batch features only in a specific version?

Audacity uses "chains" of commands which you can create, or edit to suit your needs.
Look in "File menu" "Edit Chains" to create or edit chains.
"File menu > Apply Chain..." to apply the commands to a single file, or multiple files. (batch process)
