<<<I have the ION turntable setting on my refridgerator because it enhances the bass! >>>
Wait, you do that, too? I wonder if it has to do with the stable platform thing. These machines are notorious for misbehaving mechanically. It wouldn't shock me to find putting them on a solid surface helps a lot. Heck, that sort of thing helps regular turntables.
Still, environment counts. Here in Sunny Southern California® we also have to worry about the earth moving, so having a stable mounted platform that's really heavy can be a liability. I forget if it's the "P" or "S" waves that travel in about 1 Hz speeds and if you get enough of those, it can throw an LG Frost-Free Upright refrigerator across the room--or at least seriously disturb your Glenn Miller capture session.
Of course that also represents a gap in time when you can't go for a cold pint/brew.

Yah I feel kindof dumb now, because un-installing Norton solved the problem....I think...We'll see how it pans out after I use it for a little while.

I've never heard of this happening on Windows machines, but we're determined to get suppliers to stop putting Norton on Macs because it seriously compromises video services.
As near as we can figure, a particular robust virus package insists on inspecting everything that goes in or out. This kills video capture sessions--or anything happening in real time.

The sound was also stutterring in the sound tests you provided. I lowered the sound card output bitrate from 24 bit 192000 to 16 bit 44100. That may have helped as well. Though I am noticing a slight speed improvement overall since I uninstalled norton. At any rate, no more stuterring.

Sometimes you can cure thi with virus checkers so the they "ignore"/"trust" all .aup and .au files.
Not all virus checkers let you do that - it's been a while since I used Norton so I can't comment directly on their s/w.
