How to cut files in pieces for embedding in PowerPoint

Hey guys, new user here.
What I have here is a 55 minute presentation that I am trying to cut into 60 different sound files to insert into the corresponding slides in a PowerPoint presentation.
I can record the files just fine by using the selection start and selection end prompts at the bottom of the page.
However, it has been a few months since I was trained on this, and I have forgotten how to save the individual cut-ups and save them as individual mp3 or wav files. Im kind of in a deadline crunch, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The quickest and simplest way: select the audio that you want for the clip, then from the File menu select "Export Selection".

Thanks Steve,
I did this, and everything seemed to work ok.
However, I selected the imported wav file and opened it with Windows Media Player just to make sure things were OK and got no sound. Any clues as to why?

But they play OK if you import them back into Audacity, or play them in FooBar2000 or another good audio player?
You may have exported in a format that is not supported by WMP.
Export as "16 bit 44100Hz stereo Microsoft PCM WAV" - they should play in any player.
To select the sample rate (44100 Hz), select 44100 in the "Project Rate" box at the bottom of the main Audacity window before you Export. Select 16 bit Microsoft PCM WAV in the Export options dialogue when you Export.

They play fine in Audacity, but even when I export it as 16 bit 44100Hz stereo Microsoft PCM WAV, there is no sound when opening it with WMP.
Kinda weird, huh?

Personally I think WMP is rubbish. Who needs a media player that needs to phone home to Uncle Bill every 5 minutes, for either a codec it can't find, or just to let Micro$oft know what you are doing. But I do find it surprising that it will not play a 16 bit 44100Hz stereo Microsoft PCM WAV file.
Have you tried any other media player?
VLC, WinAmp and FooBar2000 are all good for playing audio, and free.

This thing will not even play in WinAmp. I am just completely frustrated at this point.

Can you upload a short sample that will not play (except in Audacity) somewhere on the internet and post a link to it.
