Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode), Windows 7
I don't know the right terms for this so it makes it hard to look up
I'm copying old audio tapes, and some some audios of study material..... recorded into audacity....
I'd like to separate the songs with the song name and be able to advance to that song or copy only that song to my ipod
professional recordings are identified by a track number or name and it enables me to advance or go back to a particular track....
How can I set this up for my recordings?
I see I could record them separately or cut them into sections after recording
and maybe put it all together again?
I tried using Track marker, but it does not open when exported to WMP as separate tracks or show the song titles
what is the best way to go about this?
Copied tape, how to mark sections

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Copied tape, how to mark sections
but at least you managed to describe the issue clearlyceriserowan wrote:I don't know the right terms for this so it makes it hard to look up
To do that you'll need to split the recording in separate tracks.ceriserowan wrote:I'd like to separate the songs with the song name and be able to advance to that song or copy only that song to my ipod

An easy way to "join" the tracks back together so that they will play in sequence on your iPod is to create a "playlist" (you can do that in iTunes).
You're almost there.ceriserowan wrote:I tried using Track marker,
To split the recording into separate tracks, have a look at this tutorial: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Split ... ate_tracks
