I'm beginning a forensic investigation into the source of some apparent malware which has given issues with my computer.

I'm really impressed with Audacity as it performed the short task that I needed, but I also noticed that I downloaded "incredibar_install" at a similar time time as one of the required plug-ins and it has taken over my browser. I do remember forgetting to un-check one of the boxes on a plug-in and hoping that it didn't give issues.
I'm trying to establish for sure whether there is a connection between that and possibly the plug-ins or something that was also required to add the specific functionality that I need.

I would also appreciate guidance on how to remove it, because I've tried many the cures recommended on various forums and they don't seem to have removed it from my browsers. It diverts what would otherwise be a google search entered in the address bar to http://search.incredibar.com. There is also a right-click menu option which I want to remove.

"incredibar" has nothing to do with Audacity.
Audacity does not include incredibar or any other software.
Audacity should always be downloaded from the official download locations as other people may distribute "modified" versions of Audacity or bundle additional applications, spyware or viruses with it. The Audacity team has no control over what other people may do.
