Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I must be doing something wrong.

Post by Zslater » Wed Mar 07, 2012 3:09 am

I have a pretty major issue with my Audacity usage. I am using the Audacity 1.3 (Beta) version on a Dell run by Windows 7. The problem I keep running into is that after completing only an action or two, the system freezes. Upon trying to complete another action such as under the ''effects'' tab, i click on the tab but am not able to select any of the options. They do not show the words in black which makes them ''clickable'' but yet in grey so that you cannot click them. It is like this with all the tabs, I can't import anything or make any changes to the things I have open. Any ideas?

What is the rest of the version number? (Look in "Help > About Audacity")

Whatever you are working on in Audacity must be in "Stopped" state and not merely "Paused". Was pressing the Pause button the last thing you did before Audacity "froze" on you?

Ok, pressing stop instead got the job done, thanks so much for the help. I'm sure I'll probably need it again someday
