Records fine but exported mp3s are silent.

I'm a first time user so I'm probably missing something but I don't know what. I can record fine, edit ok, spilt tracks, and export to mp3( files are 'bout the right size) but SILENCE in iTunes. Help Pls

How about Windows Media Player? Silent there, too?
Open a fresh Audacity.
Generate > Tone (Anything audible. 400Hz works. Five seconds.)
Don't do anything to it. Just export as MP3. Can you hear that in iTunes?

Sorry, My Bad. I'd forgotten to unplug the USB Turntable which disables the pc speakers source. All ok now. And thanks
