I installed on my vista laptop and when I try to launch audacity I get an create error 14001
side by side configuration is incorrect. how can I fix this?

If you have the 32 bit version of Vista, download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86). Double-click on the downloaded "C:vcredist_x86.exe" file to run it and follow the instructions. If you are asked whether you want to uninstall or repair, choose "Repair".

If you are running a 64-bit version of Vista, download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) then double-click on the downloaded "C:vcredist_x64.exe" file and follow the instructions. If you are asked whether you want to uninstall or repair, choose "Repair".
