Trying desperately to convert one song into a karaoke style track but im hopeless!

Its http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYPfCjn0XDU which my friend converted to an mp3 file via youtube converter.

I've tried splitting the track, inverting it, converting it from stereo to mono..no luck.
Tried voice remover as well but no luck.

Is there anything else that will actually work?? or is there no chance of me getting this :(

No chance. It's mostly a mono track. It needs to be in good stereo for Vocal Removal to work. I couldn't do it, either.

Vocal Removal works on any sound "in the middle" left to right of a stereo show. That would be violins on the left and trumpets on the right. Chances are good the singer is going to be in the middle. Audacity will kill anything in the middle.

In this case almost all the instruments and sound and voice are in the middle. They all go. Chances are if you got a really top quality music download, it would be in good stereo and it might work. Not a ratty YouTube track that somebody captured and converted for you.

This short, perfect stereo test track works fine.
