Help
Why can't I pause when I am recording a cassette? When I listen to the play back on the pc, then it pauses. I can't turn my cassette over that fast. So I end up with a long time between side one and two!! I am new at this, and not very good with electronics. Can someone help please? Thank you.
Re: Help
You should be able to pause in the middle of a recording. Just click on the pause button or press the "P" key.
Click the Pause button again (or press the "P" key again) to resume the recording.
Alternatively you can stop the recording (press the Stop button or press the spacebar), then "append record" (continue the recording from the end of the current track) by pressing shift+R (or select "Append Record" from the Transport menu).
If the gap in the recording is too long, just select it and delete.
See here for comprehensive information about selecting audio: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Selection
To delete the current selection, just press the Del key.

Re: Help
Hmm, I wonder why Pause is not working.
Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity". For example "1.3.14" The final digits are important).
You're sure that you're pressing the right button?
