Hi
I'm currently running Audacity Beta on a Win7 64 system but I'm having trouble with the sound input. This is being provided by a wireless mic through a PA system. Prior to changing the computer I had no problems with sound quality. Now however there is constant background noise and a very faint audio signal. With this being a new set up I'm not sure if its the PA or the computer or is there a problem running Audacity with Win7 64. I hope that's enough info for now.

Re: Record sound issues
Win7 has more sound services than older Windows did. You may need to turn off Conferencing Services.

Did you go from a desktop to a laptop computer? Are you recording the built-in microphone instead of the PA feed? If you unplug the PA, does the noise go away?
Recording on newer Windows machines can be an adventure. See if any of this helps. The PA should be plugged into the blue Stereo Line-In socket -- if you have one...

Re: Record sound issues
Hi
I'm using a decktop pc, with the cable into the mic-in rather than the line-in, this comes direct from the PA line out feed. I note from your reply that this should be plugged into the line-in rather than the mic in. Possibly this could be the culprit although in the past old the old XP system the mic in was used with no problems.
