Well that's where Audacity is saying the problem lies.
If you attach the .AUP file to your reply I'll have a look and see if I can see anything there.

Please see this manual page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects

It appears you have moved either the .aup file or the _data folder so they are no longer in the same directory.

Did windows move some files when it crashed because I have not moved any files...
What is causing the error on 964 which is not allowing me to recover the project?
I appreciate the help, Thanks

So is what happened that you crashed, then when you saw "Automatic Crash Recovery" and tried to recover there was a message box about invalid token at line 964?

If so that line 964 error refers to "C:UsersBrianAppDataRoamingAudacityAutoSaveshake up break up - 2012-02-13 18-18-37 N-85.autosave" and that is the file you have to correct. If you show hidden files and folders according to these instructions:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutoria ... ows/#vista

then you could make a copy of that autosave file and attach it, assuming you still have the project open.

Could you ever open "shake up break up.aup" after the crash? When you open "shake up break up.aup" now, is there a line error as well as the "could not find" error?

The .aup file has a zero samples clip at the start of an audio track which could explain the crash. Do you recall what actions you took in the project before the crash?

Ok is looks like I had the word "nul" about 50,000 times on that line...
I have deleted them all from that line and now get a mismatched tag error when trying to recover it....
I have attached a copy of the autosave file in hopes that someone may figure it out...
Thanks

Well right or wrong I got it.....after fighting the tag error for awhile I just simply deleted the line that was troubling me and then moved some files around and wizzbang I got the song back that I had been working on..
I would like to thank everybody for their input and help, couldnt have done it without their input and guidance.
once again a big thanks.

Glad you got it working.
For future reference, when I'm working on an important project, I use "Save As" to make a new copy of the project (appending a version number to the project name) every 30 minutes or so. This eats up loads of disk space, but guarantees that in the worst case scenario I'll only loose 30 minutes of work.
