Rocksmith Guitar USB Adapter

Post by micleejohnston » Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:34 pm

Hello,

I have used Audacity for a while now and recently purchased a video game for my PS3 called Rocksmith. This game comes with a USB guitar adapter, which would allow me to record through USB onto my computer. However, I cannot figure out how to do this with Audacity. Any help would be appreciated!

P.S. There is not currently a driver for this, so perhaps that is the problem. I'm going to attempt to install the latest version of Audacity on Ubuntu & see if it will work on there.

Thank You!

Unless there is something seriously magic about the device, it might show up in Windows as a generic USB Sound Device. Dig into Windows Control Panels > Sound > Recording and see if there is a device there that didn't used to be there.

There is a trick you need to know. Audacity won't see anything new after it starts, so plug in first.

Thank you for response.

I started up Ubuntu, launched Audacity, plugged my cord in, and it instantly detected by name "Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter."

Depending on if I find myself on Windows more often, I will attempt to do what you have asked in order to help anyone else who is having similar issues and doesn't use linux.

Will respond in future! Thanks.
