Greetings Audacity team,
I just recently downloaded a copy of Audacity 1.3(beta), in order to import dj mixes and then export them, allowing for simple wav editing such as fade in and fade outs, and also to cut my files down into sections (some of my sets tend towards the five hour range).
I typically record my dj mixes at 320 kbps, so I prefer to export them again at 320 kbps as a means to not compress the file too much further.
I've browsed a couple of the forum topics on hear about exporting and a supposed "export dialog box", but for some reason, I can't seem to locate the export dialog box in order to change the bit-rate. Also, when I export my files and choose it as an mp3, it doesn't prompted anything other than the metadata editor, before it automatically starts exporting at 128 kbps.
Can anyone help PLEASE? I've used these two topics below, but they have done very little to help me located this "export dialog box option". Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Cannot Find the Export Options Dialog Box
Use File...Export to open the dialogue. Select MP3 as the file type and then, to set the bit rate option for the MP3 file, click on the Options button in the bottom right hand corner of the dialogue window.
Re: Cannot Find the Export Options Dialog Box
Is there any way to do this bit-rate change in a chain ?
I listen a lot of podcasts and due to limited free time I have, I use audacity to change tempo of those downloaded files and export them to MP3. But when I do this in chains, it exports them in 128 Kbits. The downloaded files are 64 bits most of the time. I would like to encode them in 32 k-bits for ease of transfer and storage.
Can the mp3 bot rate be set globally for the chains to use ? Or can the one-time change be done while exporting somewhere in the chain ?
Thanks for the answers in advance

Re: Cannot Find the Export Options Dialog Box
In my copy of Audacity v1.3.14 it remembers whatever bit rate I last used. So you could try doing a manual export in which you set your preferred bitrate. Then close down Audacity and restart it and run your chains. That might do what you want.
