Assuming that the Clavinova AUX sockets are 1/" jack, you will need a lead like this:

Steve,
Thank you for showing me that picture, I didn’t really think using my guitar cable was correct. One question I have before I buy is that the leads come in either mono or stereo. Should buy these leads as stereo? Or doesn’t it really matter? I noticed sometimes you can buy one end as stereo and the other as mono.

I’m assuming stereo, but I just thought I’d ask. I’m thinking there are probably some situations where you use a mono… not sure.

Steve,
Not sure why I asked you about stereo or mono, I was thinking regular audio equipment leads, but I went to a music store and found I need a “Livewire CMP 159 1/8 MTRS ~>2 x ¼ M” which I was unable to get right now. They had 3’ in stock but I need next size up which is 10’. They showed it in stock but were unable to locate, maybe an error in inventory. They took my name & number to call within the next few days. The manager is working on it. They offered me an alternative hookup, but I told them I’d rather get that wire. I’ll have to let you know when I am hooked up. I guess I’ll talk to you then.
Bye for now,
Dave

2 x 1/4" MONO Jack to plug into the Clavinova.
1 x STEREO mini-jack to plug into the PC.

Thanks Steve,
Sorry about the extra info, I’m thinking maybe that I should send some stuff in a personal message or something and not post on the forum, but this is all new to me and I’m not sure sometimes how to go about it. I apologize for that. I realize too that this is an open forum for everyone to contribute to if they want and not just between you and me, so I apologize to everyone if I make it seem that way. I welcome the extra feedback. I’m just a newbie here and everyone so far has been so helpful and nice.
As far as the lead goes, I was unable to find the correct one at a local electronics shop and figured being a musical instrument, I’ll try a music store, and they seemed to know what I need, which was the one I mentioned. I could probably go with alternative setup, but I’d rather go with what you showed me.
I’ll let you know when I’m set up and able to do a test run, and what the results are. I am having fun with this. Thanks again for everything. I guess the next thing to would be to just read up on it and figure out how to save things. You said in a previous post that a lot of learning comes by just playing around with it. Maybe I’ll hook up some Audio equipment and try to record some tapes or LP’s. I would like to figure out how to record off the web, if you’re allowed to do that with this. It seems like there are so much possibilities. It’s just an amazing program.
Well I’ll be going for now. I’ll post again to let you know my progress, or if I have any questions or problems. I should probably make sure I am using the right stereo or mono jacks with my other audio equipment also. Is there anything written about this? I was just wondering. Thanks again for everything, and to everyone in the forum and on the staff.
I’ll see ya,
Dave

This tutorial from the 1.3 manual should help you figure that out:

Thanks waxcylinder, I appreciate it. I think I’d want to be careful though if I was to record off the web, so as not to violate any copyright or web restrictions. I wouldn’t want to do that. The same thing applies with tapes and LP’s. I’d be careful there too. I don’t think I’d use this on any copyrighted material. Maybe for some live concert recordings acquired through tape trading, but even then I’d want to know that I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I’d like to find out about that. My main reason for using Audacity is for personal recording anyway. Right now I’m working on some projects where I’d like to transfer some cassette recordings of myself onto CD. I think I need to pace myself between reading, and recording though, both of which I’ve had little time to do as of yet between the help Steve’s been giving me in setting up and learning the basics, thank you Steve, and all the questions I’ve been asking, but like I said, thank you for the input, I really appreciate your help. I’m still waiting on the lead for my piano, and when the time comes and I decide to plug my guitar into this, I’m sure I’ll have a billion questions about that too, like the possibility of creating loops, and dubbing and so forth. I’m not sure what Audacities capabilities are as far as that goes, but I’d like to find out if you or anyone can guide me on that subject. Like I said though, I think I need to pace myself.
Thanks again,
Dave

What I meant in the previous post when I said,
“I think I need to pace myself between reading, and recording though, both of which I’ve had little time to do as of yet between the help Steve’s been giving me in setting up and learning the basics, thank you Steve, and all the questions I’ve been asking,”
…is that I think I’ve been spending a lot of time posting and not enough time reading and recording, but that I am greatly indebted to Steve for all the help he’s been giving me in setting up and learning the basics for which I’m grateful.
Plus there are other personal things which have been taking up my time.
I just wanted to clarify that because I didn’t think it came out right.

You're welcome Dave. Hope you're not waiting too long for your lead
Audacity is a very "capable" audio program, relatively simple to get started with, but very powerful when you start getting into the detail. Two ways that I have found that are really good for getting to know Audacity: 1) Play with it - experiment, try things out, 2) Once comfortable with the basics, have a skim through some of the recent forum posts and if there's a question that you know the answer to, post a reply, if you don't know the answer, try and work it out and follow that topic to see how others work it out.
Let us know how you get on when your lead arrives
