Copy Metadata from old file to new file

Is there a way to copy the metadata of a file, and apply it to a new file?

I have a chain that:

1. Changes the tempo of a file
2. Exports the file as an mp3

Is there some way to copy the metadata from the old file, and have it apply to the new file? If there is, can it be added to the chain?

Also, is there some way to automate the deletion of the old file, as a part of the chain?

Thanks for any help.

Generally, no. But if you open Metadata Editor, load or type some metadata, press "Set Default", then OK, then for example apply your chain to a WAV file that has no metadata, the MP3 you export from your chain will have that default metadata (as intended by this feature).

But it does not work if you apply your chain to an MP3 that has no metadata; the exported file has no metadata. If the MP3 had metadata in the first place, then the exported file still has the metadata of the original file (in that case, as intended).

In any case, there is no way to specify metadata using a chain command. I could add your vote for that.

No, that would be another "feature request" I can add your vote for.
